成功的定義很抽象,對每個人來說也都不相同,當別人詢問我怎麼成功的開一間咖啡館的時候,

我知道我只是專注於成為一個獨立藝文咖啡館,藉此讓我的創作夢得以延續-只是光影

"只是光影"對我來說是一個特殊的空間，因為這裡有著許多人的回憶和自己與自己對話的空間．

To me "The light dance with shadow" is a special place,

because it contains the memories of many people and myself and what I have made of this space.

2014年只是光影已經有相當多的策展經驗、和支持Dream of the world計劃

很謝謝只是光影的鼓勵和支持讓這個計劃有了開始和延續

2015年只是光影也有新的挑戰和創作,巨大的鬆餅裝置,也注入很多元的活動,為新民街帶來生命力

起先是因為朋友跟我說有一個地方,裏頭的文字特別吸引人,邀我到那個地方看看,

I first came to know about this place because my friend told me about it,

and she said that the words in this place had a special attractive power, and invited me there.

因此發現在桃園市新民街的一個小地方,兼具懷舊和裝載諸多靈魂的3層樓容積,

And so I discovered that here in Taoyuan City there is this small alleyway with a vintage three story building

with the presence of many who have visited.

這樣的氛圍和這容積主人的自然親切,更貼切說明他們是"用自己的方式存在"的實踐者

The presence that I felt from that, as well as from the owner of this place, gave me a warm welcoming feeling. 

Furthermore, they have their own way of living and actively practice it.

看似無跡可尋,但他們所施展的魔法,其實就是實踐想法,並一步步將整體感覺的完整性呈現,

這是為什麼他們能在市區邊緣的小巷子裏頭生存至今有第5年的原因,隱隱約約凸顯出強烈的獨立風格

Some people wonder if there is any magic behind how this place has been able to develop over the past five years

in a small alleyway in a relatively obscure area in the city,

but the reality is that the building blocks were placed step by step,

and within this foundation we see a glimpse of a sense of indie strength.

許多火花在這裡被點燃跟實現,就是每檔約有一個月展期的藝術創作展示,

只要你喜歡這個空間並且有勇氣呈現自己,這裡就有更多的可能,

這也是為什麼我這麼喜歡這裡的原因

Many individual fires have been lit in this place (metaphorically speaking),

such as through monthly artistic creations.  If one likes this kind of place,

and has the courage to create your own sense of self, then there are many possibilities,

and this is why I love this place.

夢想X勇氣X用自己的方式和步調 X 用自己的方式生存 X 開放的心 X 相信

Dream / courage/ uses one’s own way and methods,

uses one’s own way to exist/ a way of developing passion, and belief.

這也是我一直想成為的樣子,用自己的方式存在,有靈魂的存在

This is what I’ve always wanted to be like, using one’s own way of existing, with my soul and existence.

不是遺忘了 還有選擇 還有能表達自己的能力

You have not forgotten.  There are still options.  There is still the ability to develop one’s potential.

相信,愛和人生都一樣需要冒險,不選擇本身是一種冒險,

但選擇了相信跟用自己的方式嚐試這樣的冒險,反而能更讓人生無憾

Faith, love and life are the same and all require adventure,

not choosing to pursue oneself is also an adventure,

but choosing faith and using one’s own way of tasting the adventure,

has the ability to make one not feel regret about their lives.

這不是要誰一下放棄什麼,而是不放棄初衷,待時間醞釀,一切會豁然開朗

This is not about wanting someone to give up anything,

but rather it’s about not giving up one’s original plans,

bearing through the parts that require effort and all will come to fruition in due course.
